Abstract
In the present study, by employment of 5,5′-bipyrimidine (bpym), a semi-flexible quadritopic N-donor ligand, two coordination polymers (CPs) based on azide ligands, namely, [Co(bpym)(N 3 ) 2 ] n ( 1 ) and {[Co 3 (bpym) 3 (N 3 ) 6 ]·H 2 O} n ( 2 ) were produced and characterized structurally. Their application values on bacterial acute sinusitis were explored and the related mechanism was explored as well. First of all, the CFU (colony forming units) assay was conducted to determine the Streptococcus pneumoniae survival rate after treated with the new compounds. Afterwards, ELISA detection kit was employed to detect the content of inflammatory cytokines released into nasal mucus. • Two coordination polymers (CPs) were prepared. • Coordination polymers' structure was determined by X-ray. • Compounds' application effect on bacterial acute sinusitis was explored.
