Abstract

This paper describes a system developed for the construction of circular ground plan roofs that can be partially opened in their middle section. The system has recently been applied to the project for the roof of an 100.3 m diameter coliseum that is about to be built. This paper goes into the particular solutions that are applied in the project both as regards its structure and the elements that enable the roof to open and close.
