Abstract

A fine granularity scintillating fiber tracking system was proposed for the inetermediate radial range of CDF between silicon vertex detector and central drift chamber. Detailed study of the expected performance especially under high radiation dose showed that the system is highly efficient for the intergrated luminosity of 2 fb −1 to be accumulated in Run II, the run after the Main Injector is completed. Rate capability study was conducted on SSPM and it was found that the high efficiency is well maintained up to several MHz that is expected in Run II.
