Abstract

This Forum of the journal Cadernos de Gestão Pública e Cidadania (CGPC) seeks to acknowledge the contributions, trajectory, and impact of Professor Luiz Carlos Bresser-Pereira, fostering discussions centered on his work, both in academia and in public and private management. In 2022, Professor Bresser-Pereira was recognized as the most cited Latin American economist internationally (Latin America Top 100 Economics & Econometrics Scientists 2022). His prolific work spans a wide array of subjects. In 1981, he founded the Brazilian Journal of Political Economy (Revista de Economia Política), linked to the Center for Political Economy, where he has served as both president and editor. Since 2004, he has been instrumental in the Economics Forum at the São Paulo School of Economics, Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EESP). His works reflect a strong interdisciplinary approach, integrating fields such as philosophy, social and political sciences, economics, management, scientific methodology, and history.
