Abstract

The studied results of acoustic scattering from a cylindrical shell bounded by two hemispherical endcaps are presented in this paper. The normal and the axial excitations are studied. The experimental results obtained by the M.I.I.R. (Method of Isolation and Identification of Resonances) are compared to ones obtained by a coupled finite element-boundary element method. The interpretation of the results obtained for the axial excitation is achieved by applying the phase matching over the meridian circumference of the object.
