Abstract

This chapter reviews the resistance in arthropods of importance to man's domestic animals and concentrates on the changes introduced from 1970 in the resistance of certain listed arthropods. The special problems associated with the control of ticks have been an important part of the discussions in addition to the review of the resistance in arthropods of importance to man's domestic animals and concentrates on the changes introduced from 1970 in the resistance of certain listed arthropods. The most important problems of resistance in arthropods of veterinary importance are associated with ticks. Ticks that transmit diseases, paralyze animals, and are responsible for physical damage to livestock have been the objects of treatments with acaricides. It is a serious matter that several important species of ticks in other areas of the world have developed resistance to acaricides.
