Abstract

Pressure pulsation is generally considered as the main source of vibration and noise, attenuating the pressure pulsation in an appropriate method has a very important significance for reducing vibration and noise in the hydraulic system. Due to the effectiveness in attenuating the pressure pulsation near the nature frequency, small pressure loss, conversion of many kinds, low cost and high reliability, resonant-type hydraulic pulsation attenuators have been widely used in practice. After summarizing the research status, the resonant-type hydraulic pulsation attenuators are classified into three categories:Helmholtz resonator, multiple-chamber type and fluid-structure coupled vibration type, research progress and performance of each category are expounded respectively. Comparisons are conducted among the performance characteristics of each category resonance-type pulsation attenuator to facilitate the users to chose and design them properly. For the deficiency of current technology, the focus direction of the further research is elaborated and it is concluded that good compactness, nice versatility, excellent adaptability of attenuation frequency is the future trend of development of resonant-type hydraulic pulsation attenuator. Finally, a resonant-type pulsation attenuator of new topology structure is proposed, this kind of attenuator can flexibly adjust its shape to fit the demanding space requirements.
