Abstract
Renal ischemia reperfusion injury, a common pathological process in kidney operation, is always seen in extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy and renal transplantation, and even the main reason leading to acute kidney injury. The pathogenesis of renal ischemia reperfusion injury (RIRI) is complex so that we have not found better drugs in clinical to prevent and treat it. P38 signaling pathway activation is one of the important mechanisms leading to renal ischemia reperfusion injury. This article reviewed the main functions of P38 mitogen activated protein kinases (P38MAPK) signaling pathway and its role in RIRI in order to provide a new idea for the prevention and treatment of RIRI.
