Abstract

Overexprssion of heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) Bl is a frequent early event in lung cancer, may be related to maladjustment of cell differentiation. p53 is widely recognized as a tumor suppressor gene at present. When the cells are stimulated by various signals, which induces gene stress reaction, p53 protein is activated by phosphorylation and allosterism, which inhibits cell division, proliferation and induces apoptosis to prevent malignant transformation of cells. Application of small interfering RNA in RNA interference technology silences hnRNPBl gene, enhances the activation of p53 gene, thus inhibits the malignant transformation of cells. This article reviews the research progress of effects of hnRNPBl specific small interfering RNA on lung cancer cells and p53 gene expression. Key words: Lung cancer; p53; Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein B1; Small interfering RNA
