Abstract

In order to explore how parent-child relationship among junior high school students correlates with smartphone use, academic procrastination and self-esteem, the paper comes up with the novel research on the structural relationship between parent-child relationship and the usage of smart-phone, academic procrastination and self-esteem based on structural equation model under the background of big data. The research used questionnaires and big data to investigate the parent-child relationship among 475 grade-nine students in a junior high school of Changzhou as well as their reliance on cellphone, academic procrastination and self-esteem. The conclusion of the research demonstrate that the deterioration of parent-child relationship among junior high school students would deepen students' reliance on smartphones and further lead to academic procrastination. Improving parent-child relationship can help boost students' self-esteem and reduce academic procrastination.
