Abstract
Cartridge fuse is widely used in many kinds of electronic circuits and plays an important role in various applications. Compared with traditional inspection method for character sign on cartridge fuse manually, on-line machine vision inspection method has tremendous superiority. Therefore an automatic visual inspection method based on template matching is proposed in this paper. The method is as follows: Firstly, four groups of character templates are created. Secondly, one group of character template is selected for matching according to the direction of characters on search image. Thirdly, the edges of the template and the search image are extracted, and then the direction vectors of their edges are computed. The image matching is carried out on the highest level of the image pyramids according to the similarity measures defined. Finally, the characters are recognized and their features are extracted for quality inspection. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method has high accuracy and strong anti-interference ability, which could meet the actual industrial demand effectively.
