Abstract
After an interval of nine years, the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (UGGI) held its Eighth General Assembly at Oslo, Norway August 19–28, 1948.The Norwegian National Committee of the UGGI, as host, under the direction of Dr. Halvor Solberg, and the Norwegian Organizing Committee under the chairmanship of Major P. A. Grinaker, completed excellent arrangements for the assembly. All meetings were held at the University of Oslo.
