Abstract

During the five years since the release of the Curriculum and Evaluation Standards for School Mathematics (1989), NCTM membership has increased from 77 000 (54 000 individuals) to 106 000 (79 000 individuals). These totals include both individual and institutional members. The most recent issues of the Arithmetic Teacher, Mathematics Teacher, and Journal for Research in Mathematics Education had circulations of 67 000, 61 000, and 12 000, respectively.
