Abstract

We appreciate the thoughtful editorial comments made regarding our manuscript entitled “Feasibility and outcomes of robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical cystectomy for bladder cancer in the elderly” and understand the nature and perceptions of some of the concerns raised in the editorial comment. Editorial CommentUrologyVol. 77Issue 5PreviewIn this well-written, retrospective study, the authors answered the questions of whether robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical cystectomy is feasible in the elderly and whether it has outcomes comparable with those of the young population. The answer for these questions was positive according to the authors' maturing experience. Regarding the first question (whether it is feasible to perform robotic radical cystectomy in the elderly), the answer was previously stated by Pruthi et al1 in an earlier publication in 2010.
