Abstract

A special microwave radar was developed for remotely sensing water vapor (refractive index) fluctuations in the atmosphere. The unprecedented range resolution of the radar (1 meter) revealed unique atmospheric structures. The radar is briefly described and an overview is given of observations of atmospheric structure delineated by water vapor fluctuations.
