Abstract
We sadly share that Sally Alicia Monsour passed away on April 26, 2013. A celebrated music educator, she enhanced the field of music education through her publications, encouragement, and scholarly training as a teacher and professor, and service throughout the community. Teaching at schools and universities in Florida, Michigan, Colorado, Georgia, Canada, Hawaii, and Australia, Dr. Monsour published various books and articles, served on editorial boards of several journals, served the College Music Society as vice-president from 1971 through 1979, and regularly presented at conferences. She retired from the faculty of Georgia State University in 1995 and remained active in the community, receiving recognition for her work as a volunteer. Donations may be made to the Sally A.
