Abstract

The use of an infinite conductivity model for the analysis and the simulation of high power cables leads to an overestimation of the induced current, namely in the case of indirect lightning. In finite conductivity cables, the induced current is lower, therefore making the design and dimensioning of protection and maneuvering devices easier.
