Abstract
Relaxation spectrometry (mechanical relaxation) in elstomers has revealed four groups of relaxation transition: β-group (small-scale transitions), α-group (segmental mobility), ϰ-group (slow processes of physical relaxation) and δ-group (chemical relaxation). Thirteen individual relaxation transitions are observed in the butadiene-methylstyrene copolymer studied (SKMS-10). The study of the specific heat of this elastomer confirms the existence of the same relaxation transitions which had been observed by relaxation spectrometry.
