Abstract
The relative thermoluminescence (TL) response of alpha and beta radiation as a function of irradiation temperature becomes important in TL dating when extreme irradiation temperature conditions are involved, i.e. in space, polar and hot desert regions. In this work, results are presented concerning the relative response for various phosphors such as: Norwegian quartz, LiF: Mg,Ti and Li 2 B 4 O 7 :Mn in powder form of dimensions 2–8 μm. The irradiation temperature range was from room temperature up to 250°C, while the test doses belong in the linear and early supralinear dose response range. The results as well as their practical aspects are discussed.
