Abstract

Objective To investigate the risk factors of recurrence of primary nephrotic syndrome in children. Methods The clinical data of 168 children with primary nephrotic syndrome in Zhengzhou Children’s Hospital from March 2014 to March 2017 were analyzed retrospectively. Univariate analysis and regression analysis were performed to analyze their clinical manifestations laboratory tests and treatment methods. Results Of the 168 cases, 53 cases presented recurrence. Results of two kinds of analysis showed that the first onset before 4 year-old, hematuria, more days required for syndrome remission, short treatment course and high quantity of urine protein were the common risk factors of primary nephrotic syndrome recurrence in children. Infection was the most likely cause of recurrence of primary nephrotic syndrome. Conclusions Repeated infection, days required for syndrome remission and the course of treatment are risk factors of recurrence of primary nephrotic syndrome.
