Abstract

Mental health is a precious as well as vulnerable human good, it it closely correlates with physical well-being and social status. Psychiatric diseases are highly prevalent and have various forms. In addition, they tend to become chronic and need individual and tailored support and treatment. The system of psychiatric care and psychotherapy is not well co-ordinated and does not meet patients’ needs. For a long time, an effective regional co-ordination of mental health care has been called for, but has scarcely been implemented so far.
