Abstract

ABSTRACTThe reflection characteristics of the superconductor-dielectric-superconductor (SMS) junction at the near-zero permittivity region are investigated in this paper. Based on the London model, the closed-form solution of the reflectivity as a function of the ambient temperature and the external magnetic field is derived and discussed. A simulation example of the niobium-magnesium oxide-niobium junction is given to illustrate how the reflectivity varies with the ambient temperature, the external magnetic field, the incident wave model, and the thickness of the SMS junction. The simulation results show that the total reflection can be observed in the SMS junction over a wide bandwidth.
