Abstract

The influence of rare-earth- and first row transition-metal dopes and of high temperature annealing in different atmospheres upon the ferroelectric properties of polycrystalline BaTiO3 has been studied and is discussed in terms of the restriction of domain boundary oscillations and the impediment of boundary jumps by point defects.
