Abstract

Abstract Cirracanthus monacanthi (Yamaguti, 1939) and Taeniacanthus balistae (Claus, 1864) are redescribed based on specimens recovered from Stephanolepis cirrhifer (Temminck & Schlegel, 1850) and Aluterus monoceros (Linnaeus, 1758) (Tetraodontiformes, Monacanthidae), respectively, in Japan. The description of the copepodid V female of T. balistae is the first time for the species.
