Abstract

Two-dimensional (2D) correlation spectroscopy has emerged as one of the most promising and popular analytical tools in recent years. Because of advantageous features such as high spectral resolution, good spectral selectivity and good ability of spectrogram analysis, 2D correlation spectroscopy can extracts abundant information of complex biological systems, which cannot be observed by conventional one-dimensional (1D) spectroscopy. 2D correlation spectroscopy has been widely used in various fields, including food, materials, biology, medicine, environment, etc. In present paper, we summarized the application of 2D correlation spectroscopy in the detection and analysis of water environment, soil environment and atmospheric environment, especially in the study of the molecular characteristics of organic matter in the environment and the interaction mechanism with metal ions. And the application of 2D correlation spectroscopy technology in the field of environmental monitoring are prospected.
