Abstract
Thermal reaction of Fischer carbene complexes 1 – 3 with cyclooctyne 4 followed by oxidation with Ce(IV)ammonium nitrate furnished tricyclic quinone derivatives 5 – 7 incorporating an eight-membered ring.
