Abstract
Solitary plasmacytoma has a variable prognosis, with some patients recovering and others developing multiple myeloma years later. This case report describes a case of solitary plasmacytoma that develops into multiple myeloma after cervical laminectomy. A 55-year-old woman came to the hospital with complaints of pain in the neck approximately 5 years ago, and the complaint felt worse during activity and improved when resting. The patient has a history of cervical laminectomy after being diagnosed with plasmacytoma. Pathological examination found a malignant round-cell tumor with a definitive diagnosis of plasmacytoma. The results of serum protein electrophoresis showed an increase in the beta fraction with a tapered shape. Bone marrow aspiration examination revealed hypoplastic multiple myeloma. To help provide better health services, early diagnosis, treatment, and careful monitoring can be carried out, thereby improving the quality of life of those affected by this disease.
