ABSTRACTThis article encourages instructors to redesign the classroom. Finding the balance between service to students and to one’s own work has become increasingly difficult for professors. A recent overhaul of the BFA program in the Graphic Design Department at The Rhode Island School of Design has created an opportunity for faculty to bring their own areas of interest into the classroom. The results so far have been more interpersonal connection, more diverse outcomes to projects, and an agile core curriculum.
