Abstract

Various instruments can be used for assessing quality assurance systems. Along with catalogues of criteria based on the EN 29001 and with a rather operative orientation, the criteria catalogues of the European Quality Award and the Malcolm Baldridge Award, with a more strategical approach, are increasingly used on the operation level. The first part of the report draws the attention to assessment criteria and prerequisites for participating in these quality awards. The second part provides an assessment by comparison of the criteria catalogues according to EN 29001 with both awards.
