Abstract

The daily life of many young people and adults living simultaneous situation to be a worker and university student finds intrinsic conditions in Brazil. In this sense, the objective of this study was to analyze the quality of life related to health according to the questionnaire SF-36 student workers of the higher courses of the Federal Institute of Piauí, Floriano campus. The methodology was characterized as a descriptive, exploratory, qualitative approach with a sample of 100 (47.39%) students workers entering in 2013 and 2014, the 211 (100%) students enrolled in the upper courses of Degree in Biological Sciences, Degree in Mathematics, Analysis and Systems Development. The dominance results pointed to males, with 51%, and an average age of 24.20 years (SD = 2.5, median = 24). As to the characterization of the quality of life, the average for all areas was 68.4. The lowest recorded score was related to pain (47.1), and the highest was for emotional aspects (79.3). The lowest scores were for the domains social, pain, vitality,and general health, more significantly for the last three. The areas with the lowest scores were: general health (63.9), pain (47.1),and vitality (56.7),and the mean between them was 55.9. It was considered the end of thestudy this the quality of life related to health of students working and studying in undergraduate courses of Federal do Piauí Institute campus Floriano, is classified as being regular, inferring that work and study concurrently conducted interfere reasonably quality life of young students, and can harm your performance in activities related to learning.
