Abstract

We return to the events connected with the All-Union Forum of Students and to the days preceding it, because this is the first time in many decades that problems of higher and secondary specialized education have resounded so acutely, so alarmingly, and so insistently. The All-Union rally of students in 1971, as we have written before, was purely for show and therefore it does not count. Among the numerous problems discussed at the forum, one of the most urgent ones is the position of married students. This is why the student family was the subject of a special meeting in the All-Union Leninist Komsomol Central Committee, which was attended by representatives of the USSR State Committee for Labor, the USSR State Committee for Education, the All-Union Congress of Trade Unions [AUCCTU], and the Scientific Research Institute of Higher Education.
