Abstract

In a preliminary report on the use of punch cards for motility records made two years ago [A.M.A.Arch Ophth.59:603-606 (April) 1958], a scheme was described which utilized three McBee Keysort cards (5×7% in., five holes to the inch). It had been necessary to use three cards because of the impossibility of getting the desired data on one card, even the largest size with double rows of holes. We had been warned of the disadvantages of a multiple card system but had decided that it was unavoidable. We have now had enough experience with the cards to justify certain conclusions. The flattering number of inquiries, including several from foreign countries, that followed the preliminary report, indicate so much interest in this project that I feel justified in again hurrying into print in the hope of saving others time and money, since any system of punch cards that we have
