Abstract
Carbamazepine, a drug initially used for the treatment of seizure disorders, is currently being investigated for its usefulness with psychiatric patients. Affectively disturbed patients in particular have received attention. This article presents three clinical vignettes of patients helped by carbamazepine and suggests future research directions.
