Abstract

Psathyrella griseovelata is described as a new species, based on morphological and molecular data. Morphologically, P. griseovelata is characterized by its fascicled or subfascicled growth habit, the thick silvery veil in young basidiomata, the predominant grey colour of the pileus and the frustoconical spores. Besides ha- ving unique morphological characters, P. griseovelata forms a distinct lineage within P. sect. Spadiceogriseae in the analyses of the nrITS, nrLSU and tef-1α regions. Psathyrella griseovelata is described in detail, illustrations are provided and comparisons with similar taxa are made
