Abstract
The possibilities of improving the efficiency of judicial activity on the appointment of criminal punishment with the help of the latest information technologies are being investigated. The possibility of using artificial intelligence technologies to determine the category of severity of crime is analyzed. The problematic aspects of judicial activity in sentencing are highlighted and ways to solve them with the help of its programming and automation are proposed. The potential possibilities of improving the activity of courts for the appointment of criminal penalties with the help of intelligent information systems and methods have been identified.
