Abstract

The fundamental principles in the production of coke and semicoke characterized by high reactivity and electrical resistivity and developed pore structure are considered. The laws governing the formation of these properties are established as a function of the initial coal components and the pyrolysis conditions. A production technology for carbon reducing agents that may be used in electric furnaces is developed, and its prospects for application in Russia are discussed.
