Abstract
A method has been developed to produce dysprosium-157 with the alpha particle bombardment of natural gadolinium. The excitation function for the nuclear reactions producing this radionuclide has been determined and the threshold energy is found to be about 15 MeV. A method is described for the isolation of the clinical product, together with details of its radiochemical and chemical purity.
