The paper "Value Orientations, Communication Networks, and Their Effects on Continuous Improvements" views continuous improvement (CI) as key in managing quality. The paper contrasts the process orientation and results orientation of key factors and shows that process orientation is more highly associated with effective CI implementation. The paper also identifies communication network characteristics critical in the propagation of CI philosophy. The paper "A Working Definition For Total Quality Management (TQM) Researchers" develops a definition of TQM to serve reference point for those interested in doing research on this important topic. The paper "An Empirical Examination for Practices Associated With Plant Cycle Time" presents a research which proposes a method for measuring plant cycle-time and a model which includes management and exogenous variables. The model is evaluated using empirical data.
