Abstract

In the anthropocene era, environmental issues are being increasingly debated, since the process of environmental degradation, resulting from some activities, compromises not only environmental issues, but a whole socio-environmental context. Therefore, creating spaces for discussing these issues becomes increasingly relevant and environmental education can be a fundamental tool for these arenas of debates. In this perspective, the present work had as objective to evaluate the perspective of the students of the elementary and high school with respect to the environmental problems, having as background the environmental education. For that, a qualitative and quantitative research was developed, through the application of a questionnaire for students of elementary school II and in the high school of the State School High School and Elementary School “Merces Garcia” in the city of Sao Jose do Calcado in the month of February 2019, which receives students from urban and rural areas. As a result, students recognize environmental problems, in general the evaluated classes have a good environmental perception, showing varying percentages in the environmental perception of students according to reality, the environment in which they live.
