Abstract

The article provides an analysis of literature data on the occurrence of postpartum septic complications. The postpartum period is the most dangerous from the point of view of the development of infectious complications, which is due to such features as a change in the anatomical and functional state of the genitals and other body systems during pregnancy and childbirth; a change in the nature and virulence of microorganisms against the background of a reduced immunological status accompanying pregnancy; manifestation of obstetric and gynecological pathology during pregnancy. The urgency of the problem of postpartum purulent- septic diseases is determined primarily by their frequency, severity of the course and adverse outcome for patients. The analysis of literary sources showed the ambiguity of information regarding the problem of the postpartum septic process, which indicates the need for further research into this pathology.
