Abstract

This review surveys recent progress in pretreatment methods for enhancing bioethanol production from lignocellulosic biomass. Various pretreatment techniques, including physical, chemical, and biological approaches, are evaluated for their efficacy in breaking down biomass structure and improving enzymatic digestibility. Key parameters influencing pretreatment effectiveness and integration with downstream processes are discussed. The review highlights promising strategies and identifies areas for further research to optimize bioethanol production from lignocellulosic feedstocks.
