Abstract

Data collected among various groups of Evenki during the first Soviet years demonstrate that the identical phenomenon in the sphere of primitive beliefs and rituals was retained in a number of variants reflecting successive stages in its development. Some of these phenomena even appeared in two forms of different origin. In some cases one also encountered a mixing of different forms of the same religious notion.
