Abstract

Ferroelectric ceramic Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT) of composition 52% lead Zirconate is prepared by simple wet grinding solid state thermal reaction method. The purity of the ceramic powder is studied using X-ray diffractometer and the molar ratio is confirmed by EDAX. The particle nature of the powder is analyzed by SEM. The PZT powder is pelletized into disc and sintered. Density, dielectric constant and the piezoelectric strain and voltage coefficients are measured. The results are compared with the commercially available PZT.
