Abstract

Fabrication parameters of n-SnO 2/n-CdTe and SnO 2/p-CdTe photovoltaic structures by the spray pyrolysis method are presented. Electrical and optoelectronic measurements of these structures have been made. A calculation of the photovoltaic output by means of a simple heterojunction model is reported. Good agreement between experimental and theoretical results for SnO 2/n-CdTe structures has been obtained. Difficulties with and possibilities for improving the SnO 2/p-CdTe solar cells are analysed.
