Abstract

Ba 0.1Sr 0.9TiO 3/YBa 2Cu 3O 7− δ heterostructure films have been fabricated by a pulsed-laser deposition method on vicinal LaAlO 3 substrates. The effect of the growth mode of YBCO thin films on the dielectric properties of BSTO thin films was studied. The BSTO thin films grown epitaxially on YBCO thin films in step-flow mode showed high dielectric constant and large tunability. The dielectric constant and loss tangent measured were 1100 and 0.005, respectively, and a tunability of 55% was achieved at ±50 V/μm electric field at 77 K and 1MHz for a BSTO thin film grown on 120 nm YBCO thin film.
