Abstract

This work is devoted to development of the method of calculation of back scattering cross sections for the water drops growing in the electromagnetic field. Calculations are carried out taking into account deformation of the drops under the influence of horizontal electric field and without this influence. It is shown that increasing of extent of deformation of the water drops growing in electric field leads values of back scattering cross section to deviate from the similar values for equivolumetric spheres of water more significantly. The more extent of deformation of the water drop, the more difference between horizontally and vertically polarized components of back scattering cross section.
