Abstract

Abstract On behalf of the organising committee, it is a privilege and a pleasure to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to the 13th Annual International Conference (AIC) 2023 of Universitas Syiah Kuala. I want to express my appreciation to all the participants, our esteemed keynote speakers, and our distinguished invited speakers for joining us, whether in person or virtually. The past three years have presented unique challenges, with the COVID-19 pandemic reshaping our workspaces and forcing us to adapt. Last year, we had to transition our conference to a hybrid format. Today, we are returning to a hybrid conference format as conditions continue to normalize. The resilience and adaptability of the scientific community have been remarkable. In the spirit of “normalcy, resurgence, and prosperity,” the theme of this year’s conference, “Science and Technology on Coffee and Other Local Commodities for Enhancing Human Prosperity,” aims to bring together researchers, scientists, and students from around the world to share their valuable work, ideas, and knowledge. Our AIC participants represent various countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Bangladesh, Australia, Japan, Spain, Hungary, USA, and Germany, comprising students, lecturers, and researchers. Out of the numerous accomplished works we received, we have selected 137 articles that meet the highest standards of quality. Our eminent panel carefully evaluated these papers and chose them based on their insightful perspectives, solid empirical foundation, and dedication to enhancing our comprehension of agriculture, natural science and the environment in the face of global changes. This study provides comprehensive and concise summaries of these extensively researched publications, outlining their techniques, conclusions, and consequences. It demonstrates the continued dedication of our participants to advancing new and emerging research. The innovative research presented in this study is expected to stimulate an ongoing discussion on sustainable agriculture and technological advancement. Furthermore, it creates opportunities for groundbreaking advancements that can effectively address the demanding requirements of our evolving environment. We express our sincere gratitude to all the scholars and participants who have made valuable contributions to the conference and this report. Your work expands the boundaries of our comprehension and accelerates the worldwide pursuit of advancement in agricultural technology, engineering, and environmental science. This report and conference exemplify our mission to present innovative ideas, tangible realities, scientific advancements, and potential frameworks for addressing the intricacies of contemporary agriculture within a dynamic context. We encourage our readers to approach these resources with a receptive attitude, and we anticipate active participation in cooperative learning, policy discussions, and the practical implementation of these groundbreaking concepts to stimulate transformation in the future.
