Abstract

International Conference of Sustainable Aquatic Resources (ICoSAR) is the first conference organized by Coastal and Marine Research Center & Halal Thoyib Science Center, Institute for Research and Community Services, Universitas Brawijaya - Indonesia. This event was held on 27 - 28 August 2019 at Malang, Indonesia, with the purpose to facilitate scientific forum in highlighting recent knowledge and findings.The main theme of the 1st ICoSAR 2019 is “Increasing Ocean Health Index (OHI) Through Sustainable Aquatic-Food Resources Utilization” with focus on halal and seafood. This topic is particularly important and necessary to deal with global issues, where sustainable aquatic resources plays a significant role in raising OHI; consequently, it can improve availability of halal assurance and seafood security. The sub-theme of ICoSAR 2019 consists of 1) Halal Management and Food Science, 2) Seafood Safety, Processing and Engineering, 3) Aquatic Biodiversity, Biology and Conservation, 4) Aquaculture Sustainability, 5) Aquatic Biotechnology and Pharmacy, 6) Fisheries of Social Economy, Law and Development Policy, and 7) Oceanic and Aquatic Engineering.The technical program is varied with 3 keynote speakers, 2 planery speakers, 11 invited talks, and 80 technical papers split between 4 parallel oral sessions and 1 poster sessions. This program has not only been attended by local researchers and academicians, but also foreign researchers (Thailand, Iran, Malaysia, and Japan). Through ICoSAR, all participants would find valuable findings, including the keynote speakers, invited speakers, and technical sessions in developing better world through the contribution of sustainable fisheries and marine resources.Our thanks to go out to the International Scientific Committee of ICoSAR, Keynote Speakers, Invited Speakers, Scientific Reviewers and Local Committee of ICoSAR 2019 and all participants who have assisted to make this conference succsess.List of IOP Conference Series, Logo are available in this pdf.
