Abstract
This proceeding feature peer-reviewed papers from the Third International Seminar on Civil and Environmental Engineering (ISCEE) 2024, organized by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, IPB University, Indonesia in partnership with Halu Oleo University and Hasanuddin University, with additional support from Jaffna University, Sri Lanka and the Indonesian Civil Engineering Higher Education Forum (BMPTTSSI). This seminar is sponsored by PT Krakatau Tirta Industri. Held virtually from September 5th to 7th, 2024, the conference aimed to engage a global audience, emphasized the importance of creating innovative, sustainable, and environmentally friendly infrastructure. The topics of this conference included sustainable structures and infrastructure, environmental engineering and management, innovative materials, water resources engineering, spatial modeling and analysis, geotechnical engineering, and building information modeling. The conference featured plenary sessions led by one esteemed keynote speaker and five distinguished speakers from Indonesia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia, covering a range of engaging topics. These included “Open platform infrastructures as enablers in accelerating national research and innovation ecosystem” presented by Doctor Iman Hidayat from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Indonesia; “Evaluation of appropriate tensile load in maintenance of ground anchor” by Professor Toshinori Sakai from Mie University, Japan; “Waste management” by Professor Arief Sabdo Yuwono from IPB University, Indonesia; “Net zero future asphalt surface courses” by Professor Gordon Airey from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom; “Asphalt and pavement technologies for sustainable infrastructure: current developments and innovation” by Doctor Iswandaru Widyatmoko from AECOM, United Kingdom; and “Sandstorm suppression using biopolymer and enzyme induced carbonate precipitation” by Doctor Abdullah Almajed from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. The ISCEE 2024 was successfully organized, featuring 61 presenters and over 100 participants from around the globe. A total of 70 research articles were submitted, with 50 papers passing the peer review process and being selected for publication in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES). We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the scientific committees, reviewers, and all participants. Special thanks go to the speakers, presenters, and moderators for their invaluable contributions to this conference.
