Chairman’s Preface Dr. Talal Al-Wahaibi Chairman, ICES 2024 Dean, College of Engineering A’Sharqiyah University, Ibra, Oman Welcome to the International Conference on Energy and Sustainability (ICES 2024) — a nexus where academia’s brightest minds, industry pioneers, and passionate researchers converge to ignite discussions and exchange ideas that will shape the future of energy and sustainability. As we gather here, whether in the halls of A’Sharqiyah University or through the digital expanse connecting us across the world, we do so with a unified purpose: to explore avenues for a greener economy and a sustainable future, not just for Oman but for our global community. Under the wise directives of His Majesty, Oman is on an ambitious journey to establish the ‘Oman Sustainability Centre’ and achieve the goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. It is a bold vision that requires equally bold actions, and through the collaborative effort of this conference, A’Sharqiyah University reaffirms its commitment to being a catalyst in this national endeavor. Please note that the proceedings here represent a selection of the work presented at ICES 2024. Some papers have been extended beyond this collection for publication in collaboration with esteemed journals.
